I have made a plan

After finally reaching the 50,000 word mark on my second novel, I have finally decided how I think I am going to proceed. Strange how it has taken me so long to decide this. As most friends know, I have finished my first novel, and it is going through multiple readers waiting on feedback. So far all have been positive, with a few good questions. Everyone asks when I am going to try and send it off, and I think I now know.

My goals:
First and foremost, finish the draft of my second novel.
Second, Reread and make a final edit/revision of my first novel.
Third, Make the perfect query letter--make a longer list of possible agents.
Fourth, Send that badboy out!
Fifth, Reread the rough draft of my second novel--make notes/revisions
Sixth, Let early readers check out second novel (already have a long list of eager readers here.)
Seventh, WAIT, WAIT, HOPE, PLEAD TO GOD that I have interest from an agent.
Eighth, Write the next book?

There you go, my mental plan anyways. Lets see if I can stick to it.

Late Nights

I stayed up late last night typing. My second book is up to a mere 44,000 words. It is slowly getting closer the the novel length I need. There is so much more to write, but the next couple of chapters will be interesting. I guess they are all interesting, some just more than others.
I'm eager to get it finished so I can read it through and see how it sounds.
I need to find time to reread my first again. I need to give it one more look before I try and send out queries. I need to get it perfect! So many needs, so little time.
No wonder writers take so long to get there stories out there. I wrote the draft in three months, but it has taken me four months of intermitant editing and revising to get it where it is now and I'm still not done!
It will get finished, and I swear I will try to get it out to agents soon. I only pray that someone likes the story as well as I do and my readers have!
